Today was my lucky day!

so Strand, who i met on here, is moving across the country and gave, (GAVE!) me a 10 and a 15 gallon tank.

both planted the 10 has Corys Cherry Barbs, Brilliant Rasboras, Blue Ramshorn snails, red cherry shrimp, and some nerites.

the 15 has a figure 8 puffer! (i win)

now i have no clue about this figure 8 or brackish tank.

he gave me a run down, but ill take any advice i can get :D

Thanks Strand!

Nice score! It sounds like he was glad to have someone to care for his fish since he can't take them with him.

I can't help with the puffer but I've seen lots of info. about them on the forum.
Good luck with your new fish.

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

Thanks barb,

also.

its unsettling how heavy a 15 gallon tank can be.

i have carried my 55 empty, and once with all ~50lbs of gravel in it

but this 15 gallon, with just enough water to transport the fish in it (about a mile) was almost (and probably was considering my aching triceps) more than i could handle lol.

i cant wait to post some pictures.

1 gallon of water = about 8.3 pounds

7 gallons of water x 8.3 pounds is 58.1 not counting the weight of the tank and other stuff

Nobody actually realizes how heavy water is until they have to carry it

there were two rather large rocks + gravel in it and the filter hanging on the back.

I was in a hurry haha looking back i have no clue how i got it down two flights of stairs and into my car with out dropping it.
