Tiny White Dots everywhere

Hello everyone.
I only come on here when I have a problem or concern about my tank bc you guys rock!

I have a 55 gallon set up. I have had 8 African Cichlids for 3 years now and one pleco. The same fish...the whole time. They are about 5-6 inches each. I don't have any livee plants or anything, just regular rock. I couldn't tell ya the ph or anything bc I havent had a water test in a while since I have had the same set up and do regular water changes....my fish are pretty healthy.
Anyway, about 3 days ago I noticed little white dots everywhere...its not algae, and Im not sure what to think about it. If you look at a rock, its like a tiny white hair then the little pinhead white thing attached to it. There's probably a few thousand in the tank. They are on the walls, the plants, the rocks...everything. I have never had babies in the tank, and never seen any eggs, and from what I've read online, Cichlids are mouth breeders...so Im not sure what this is...but if anyone could give me some advice I'd really appreciate it.
