So I've been toying with this idea of changing both my tanks over to sand instead of gravel. Maybe Gels for my 25 gallon since I have cories in there. I'm kind of at a loss here. Would anyone mind helping me?
Also, if I do put in sands, would I need to worry about cycling? I know it would be easier to keep the plans in there, but then what? Cleaning?
sand wouldnt really have a effect on ur tank cycle, even if it did there wouldnt be any diffrence to rave about. sands a H@@@ of alot cheaper than "aquarium" gravel. alot of fish do better with it, like loaches rays and alot of others. good thing to keep in mind : keep like two nylon socks worth of your old gravel underwater when you do the change over then after you did the change over throw one sock in ur filter and the other in ur tank to boost your cycle. i also have a tut on here somewhere on how to make play sand useable for your tank. 2.50 for 50lbs is a h@@@ of alot better than 25.00 for 25lbs Money
no, sand is better for cories because its much better for their barbels.
