which is most accurate, liquid or test strips? when I test with Wardley's liquid drops I get an 8.4 alkaline result. When I test with Quick Dip 5 tests in 1, I get a 6.8 neutral result. any suggestions??
thanks for the suggestion derek, ironically when I returned two day old dead fish to "Petco" with a water sample which yielded lower PH result with a test strip than my liquid test did ,I was told that liquid test were not very accurate. hence i purchased a strip test kit to find these different results.

all dip in test strips for me get the same results, i used mardel 5 in one and i got 6.8, just like you. With API liquid i get 7.4. Im going with the 7.4 since technically lake michigan water (the water that comes out of my tap) is a hard water lake.
I used test strips when I started back up 4 years ago. I went by their results and could never keep an otos or a pleco alive. Switched to liquid regent and found my test strips were off by as much as 200% on average with NO3 and PO4 results, ammonia was actually 0 when the tets strpis showed .5ppm and the pH was actually 7.4 when the test strip showerd it was 6.6. I will never use them again. Now you can get a bad liquid test kit and it can be easy to throw the test results off from a dirty test tube, not shaking enough, drop size and other factors but overall they are much more accurate.
