Test Kit

Just bought a bunch of aquarium equiptment off someone moving away. It came with an API saltwater master test kit. I have freshwater tanks and was wondering if the ammonia and nitrogen tests would work on freshwater? thanks.

nope they wont, salt water requires different levels of almost everything. (assuming it shows you colors to tell if levels are right) it wont give you the correct reading for fresh water.
