Temp to keep my tank at question

So bit new to aquariums, and had a quick question. I have a 10G tank and currently have 2 Zebra Danios and 2 Platys in, have had the tank for a little over and month and did appropriate cycling as suggested by many members on the wonderful board. My question is what temperature should I keep the tank at, I know there is a range but the reason I ask is I have seen and been told so pretty different ranges. Alot of websites say for fish I have a temp around 72 degrees is good, but then guy at petsmart (who actually seemed to have a clue on fish compared to other people I have spoken too) said I should have it up around 80 degrees. Currently it sits at 76, so basically I just took the avg.

Is this temp ok, or should I adjust it a bit. I plan to add just a few more fish but spread out their addition, thinking maybe another Danio and potentially 2 Delta Guppies.

Thanks in advance

I have platies and danios as well, and I keep mine at 79-80 deg F to accomidate my gourami, and the platies and danios don't seem to mind a bit. I wouldn't go hotter than tat with the danios though unless you're dealing with ich.

I keep my community tank at around 78. Tetras, barbs, cories, rainbows, - all seem to do really well but I don't have any danios.

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

I'd find a happy medium of what both them require; Zebra Danio 64-76F Platies 68-79 so there i'd set my tank at 72-74F for them guys.

+1 on that. I research the temp range for all fish in the tank, average it out and take an average of it...

All right let me start over using Angel's numbers: Zebra Danios 64-76 (avg=70), Platies 68-79 (avg=74), average of 70 and 74 is ~72?.

Of course it is all arbitrary. As long as you don't dramatically step out of the ranges, your fish should be all good.
