i have a friend that has kept a tank for a few years but always seems to have problems with it eg fish dying. they are running the tank off tank water. i have never run a tank off tank water so im not sure What the procedures are. do u have to add any conditioners to the water or anything like that?
Tank water? What is tank water? If it is a metal tank, the metal may be poisoning the fish. Is there copper plumbing to and or from the tank? This could also poison the fish. Is the plumbing metal, as in galvanized pipe? The galvanization can poison the fish. Your friend may have to buy RO water or get water from a safer place. I hope this has helped.
You'll need something to detox the the water that is for sure. I would check with my lfs to see if there is any product out there that would do this and corect the problem. To be honest, I don't know of any off hand.
