Some people like the way it looks, I myself prefer a more natural looking light, a daylight or full spectrum tube will give you a more natural looking light. Also if you do decide to do live plants in the future these are the type of bulbs that you would be looking for.
As for where to place the aquarium, how sturdy is the bureau? Also another thing to think about is how tall it is, if it is tall it will make it more difficult for cleaning. Also will this be able to hold around 400 pounds, which will be about how much the aquarium will weigh filled with water.
I'm sure I could at least replace the light but when I looked at the hood it didn't look like there was a way to remove anything to bet to the light. And I don't know how much weight the bureau can hold that's what I was worried about but I don't want to risk it. The back doesn't look supported well and my dad just told me earlier that it was presswood but he wasn't sure.
Anyway I decided not to risk it and found a bow front stand that would fit my tank on craigslist for $75. Its a year old but I'm guessing this price is a good deal. Posted via Mobile Device
