SweetAquatics?

Anyone have any idea how long it takes for SweetAquatics to respond to your e-mails? I don't want to keep bothering them but no response, I wasn't sure if it meant they didn't get my e-mail for some reason. I had questions I needed answered before ordering from them. Also, for any of you that order from them and live in a colder area, have you had problems with the plants living through the shipping?

Anyhow, just wondering what I should expect from them. Thanks for your responses.

Hi Inga,

I had the same issue with them. I had some questions that I e-mailed (no phone number on their website). Specifically, I needed to know about approx. shipment date. I ordered plants expecting them to be delivered on the 18th or 19th and they showed up the day before Thanksgiving. Gah!! Timing killed me as I had too much to do getting ready to host 12 for dinner.

The only time I heard anything was when they had a question about the order I placed. Mary Sweet was the one who sent me any correspondance at all. Maybe you should find their phone number online and see if they answer the phone?

Good luck,

They have always been pretty good about answering my emails (usually with-in 24-48 hours) they might just be very busy with family stuff right now, as I'm kind of sure this is just sort of a side business for them. The only problem I've ever had was it took them a few weeks longer then I wanted for my order to be shipped.

Yeah a phone number would have been nice. I could have asked my few questions and placed my order. Maybe I will look elsewhere. I just thought I had heard some good things about them. Thanks so much for your responses.

They do tend to get busy, but it's a family owned business...
Also they run out of plants sometimes, and it gets delayed a week.

Overall, IMO, it's worth an extra week or two to get the plants 50-80% cheaper than anywhere else.

Don't worry about the cold. They're in Ohio- they know what they're doing. If something melts or dies before you get it, just send them a picture and they will add it onto your next order for free.

What email address are you using?
I typically use their @fuse.net email rather than the form.

www.aquariumplants.com is the place I use. Shipping is a bit more but plants arrive on time, and are of excellent quality.

+1. This is also my go-to site for plant orders. I don't mind paying the extra fews bucks in order to ensure top quailty. I've only had one problem on one order (wrong plant sent) and they fixed the problem promptly.

I exclusively buy all my plants there simply because of trusted & good quality I revive from them.
I know Mary does her best to answer Emails, but also know that emails over weekends/ holiday season sometimes take a few days, I imagine they may have had a few days off for Thanksgiving as most of us.

As for the Temperature / shipping matter when in doubt they do add heat packs and I have ordered large shipment of plants (some fragile one's in the mix) last Nov from OH to TN and I had no issue they where packed real well. However I'd also not suggest to not check your mailbox until late at night and have them sit outside for a day during these cooler days now.

Hey Angel..... long time no hear from. I hope you're doing well.

As for Mary answering e-mails, I should clarify that she was sending me e-mails about replacement plants for items that were not in stock. On those e-mails I kept asking her for approx. ship date or week because of the holidays coming up and I needed to be sure we were going to be here etc....

Having said that, the plants showed up in good condition and I don't have a problem with the outfit per se.., just sharing my experience with Inga so she knows she's not alone.
