Support for a 37 Gallon Tank
I have a metal stand for my aqrarium. the feet of the stand are about 1.25 in in diameter, so assuming ~400LBS for the aquarium it's about 20psi on the feet. In my mind that is not too bad but i figure it is better to ask. Do I need to put the stand on something to dissipate the weight or can i have it on the carpeting and be just fine. I know I might be over thinking this but its easier to ask now then when I have fish in the tank.
i also thought while I'm asking questions I should ask this one. The stand is made from welded metal and I am pretty sure it will handle the weight. I have a 3/4" thick piece of wood to act as a platform for the tank. the front and back of the tank will be directly over the metal (but on the wood), however the new tank is 6" shorter so the edges will only be over the wood. The wood should be able to handle the weight, right?
