It's a lot bigger than it looks. I have one and don't use it

That appears to be the same one I have. Just remember to allow a small amount of water to flow down the tube. You will most likely have to fine tune the adjustment. I have mine adjusted to the point that its hard to see water flowing down the tube but I know its working because I can see tiny debris floating into the intake. I have a 75 gallon tank and the surface skimmer is keeping the surface clean.
