Exclamation Stress coat

Hello. Well i switched water conditioners as i was using amquel+ and novaqua+ and yall advised me to not use them. So I got stress coat from the lfs.

Now i was at walmart tonite and they had had stress coat as well. I grabbed another small bottle of it. I got home and realized the one from the lfs says stress coat+ and the one from walmart is just stress coat.

The one from walmart says it removes chlorine and chloramines. The + ones says it removes that and ammonia from your tap water. Now im not sure if that means its like prime and amquel+,as in binding the ammonia or not.

The API site only shows the + version. So im thinking maybe they are replacing regular old stress coat with the +. I will email the company and see what they say about. Just wanted to see what yall thought or if you noticed this at all. Thanks for your time.

I use Prime as water conditioner and Amquel+ and have no problems with either. I like the Prime better cause it uses less product and can safely be used a twice the strenghth for possible unexpected ammonia, and or nitrite spikes. The two litre jug of Prime takes one cap full to treat one hundred gallons. The amquel+ that I use for two tanks at work(they were out of Prime) takes nearly one third of a cup to treat the same volume. Both address ammonia, chlorine, and chloramines. I tried stress coat some years ago and found that it gummed up the filters and there is some question in my mind as to how a product that coats a fishes skin or scales,, makes the distinction between the skin or the scales and the fishes gills and or nostrils. Others believe that the aloe vera in this product cannot adhere to fish in water and therefore does nothing. If I had to use only ONE water conditioner, it would be PRIME.
