Strange brown thing amidst gravel!

Hi everyone!
I've just got my 1st tank and currently cycling it but just today I noticed some strange brown insect like thing sticking out of the gravel. It's sort of split in 2 towards the bottom and it isn't moving. I'll attach a picture (zoomed in so blurry) below. I hope it's just random gravel residue! Don't want it to be a worm (scared of them)! I only have artificial plants in the aquarium so I thought I was safe

hello and warm welcome.
if you are terribly worried you could always remove it,perhaps with tweezers
if you don't want to actually touch it.

Just take it out, it probably isn't serious. Maybe just a bug that flew into the water, sunk to the bottom and died.
