Wow my parents want to use a metal storage rack that has like 85 pounds per shelf capacity for a 100 pound when full aquarium!
They say it can support the aquarium because when they sit on it it holds. No amount of reasoning can persuade them use a proper stand. I told them that the stand needs to hold the aquarium for more than just 10 seconds but all they said is that if i really want to prove that the stand is not sturdy enough then it could be my bed.
It seems impossible to reason with them, they might not even buy a new bucket, they think that all the benefits of a new bucket and a proper stand commercial advertising!!!

I have the metal storage racks in my shed and they wobble without much weight on them. There's no way I would use them for an aquarium.Ask them if they would drink from a glass that they didn't know what had been in it,or used for something else other than drinking because that's what the fish will be doing.

Your's truly,
Lee
