i'm planning to add a group of about 7 congos to my african tank with my senegal bichir and debauwi cats. they're a bit pricey ($15 each for me) but their iridescent green, gold, and blue colouring and long fins make them worth it. they're pretty robust, but not nippy enough to bother your angels i think.

15 bucks a pop huh...I'm not sure if my LFS even sells those. The fish are quite pretty, but are there less expensive alternatives for us poor college kids :)

I was looking up peaceful fish and the German Blue Ram popped up. Is that a compatible fish for my tank?

With a bichir? I won't risk it.

Sent from my desktop or phone or whatever else I am holding on to

I'm ready for the pressure.
The drama and the pleasure!
If there is one thing I want to see here, it's HUMOR.
I believe I can fly!
I believe I can touch the sky!
I think about it every night and day!
I stand in awe of my body.

I think Lupin was talking more about risking the rams to be food for the bichir. I say it could work as long as the ram wasn't too small.

One thing to keep in mind with GBRs are that if you get a pair, they will get aggressive during mating and tend to try and bully other fish, just aren't overly successful. They are open substrate spawners, but I would recommend areas for them to be in somewhat privacy and planting the tank.

Thanks for the advice leif. Is there any way to differentiate between the sexes?
