Stalled Cycle Please Help
I setup a 10 gallon fish tank two weeks ago. I'm in the process of a fishless cycle. I use pure ammonia to feed the bacteria.Add about five drops of ammonia every 24 hours. I have a water temperature of 76 degrees and my pH is 7.5. My water is within the normal hardness at 3.5 dH. I been testing my water every other day and my ammonia is at about 3 ppm. It has been that away for a week and a half with no change and my nitrites are sitting at 0 ppm. I went out and bought 100% super concentrated nitrifying bacteria in hopes of helping with my problem. The product that I used is called Startsmart said to cycle aquariums within 24 hrs. I tested my water 12 hours after adding this product and the reading is the same. I have a 30 gallon that I set up the same day and I used this product in it as well and believe it are not my 30 gallon has almost completely cycled in 12 hours. I need help please ready to see some fish in my 10 gallon. All the water conditions are the same in both tanks so why is my 10 gallon stuck in the cycle? I would also recommend this startsmart to anyone wanting to cycle a tank quickly.

first off there is NO SUCH THING as a OVERNIGHT cycle product. instead of adding chemicals get a nylon sock and fill it with food and throw it in the tank and just wait for things to happen natrually much easyier and way more natural then any chemical. i always find it funny when people try to do a fishless cycle but almost always end up complicating things to the point they dont know what to do. This is why i ALWAYS reccomend using fish for a cycle.

The thing is that its not a chemical its 100% nitrifying bacteria. That bacteria you know that is suppose to grow to bring your ammonia down and jump start your cycle. I don't understand how this could even hurt. I mena everyone says to use gravel or decor from an established tank. This sounds like your doing the same thing if you don't have the established tank.
np man i try to push a natural way on people for many reasons but to each his own and i respect you for standing by your find. on my next setup im going to have to find what you used seems that it gave you great results!!
