Sorry,Another stocking question

55 gallon Ive got live plants and running 2 fluval c4 filters. Dont know if people use the "1 inch per gallon rule" Am I overstocked? If not how many more fish could I get? Nothing I plan on getting would be more than 2.5 inches

6x cherry barbs
7x bloodfin tetras
6x albino cories
3x platys
4x mollys
5x zebra danios
6x black skirt tetras

37 fish total

what liter an hour are your filters
you can over power your filter a bit and add extra air and it will allow a fair bit more leeway

i have a 39 gallon 4FT tank the recommended filter size is 400 liter an hour but i have a 600 liter an hour never need to cycle

also looking at you pic it is a tall tank so if you do add more make sure you get fish that sit in the empty layers of the tank
as you don't want 40 fish all on the bottom

i would need to know your total fish length added together

Yes I use liquid test kit. Tank has been up and running 8 months. My PH does suck though at 8.2-8.4. I do worry a little about the cories being in that water but they seem fine. All the other fish either prefer that PH or can tolerate wide ranges

I had the same Problem very hard water around here too

Permanent solution =
empty tank and put some aquatic peat under the gravel (about 3 CM thick) this

A. works miracles for your plants
and
B. the best natural way to lower your ph

PS. only use aquatic peat

or you could try adding peat balls but i think with your tank size you wouldn't see any benefit

take a look at my tank and see the parameters under tank info
the hard water in my area stays at around 7.8-7.9 if left
