The botia-type loaches tend to be pretty big snail-eaters. Some like snails so much that they'll basically make it impossible for you to keep snails alive in the tank (even MTS in some cases).

Most loaches prefer to be in groups, some can grow to be very large and many are very active fish, so you don't want to just go buy one because you've got some snails. Loaches are the type of fish you plan on having in your tank, not fixes to a snail problem.

Same with puffers. You should not just buy a fish for the sake of eliminating the snails. That's a common mistake most people make...unfortunately.

Steph, if only my goldfish will stop depriving my snails from eating their foods, I'll be very happy.

i wasnt going to purchase a loach for the purpose of getting rid of snails was just asking if the info id been given and read were correct :D
