The Acute Bladder snail can multiply from 5 snails to about 500 snails in about a month if you overfeed the tank. I did research and ofcourse I assumed that they didnt eat plants because thats what the profiles say about them. Unfortunately I had the population completely out of hand and the snails began to eat all the plants in my little 20 gallon aquarium. I felt sorry for these little snails but I care more about my plants so I removed most and placed them in an isolated pond.
I still have many snails living in the tank and Im affraid they are not welcome anymore because my plants have suffered from their previous huge numbers. Now I need to figure out where to get the assassin snail because that might be the only way to control their numbers.
does anyone know where to buy an assassin snail online?
Check out aquabid. But after you get your snail population under control I suggest that you look into stocking your tank with nerite snails. They can only reproduce in saltwater tank so they are perfect for a freshwater tank.

O well then I suppose nerite snails are out of the question. Haha. But Lupin thanks for the info! I coulda swore that there weren't any that could produce in FW. I learn something new everyday!
