This is pretty frustrating...I'm getting conflicting advice. I wonder what to do now. I don't want to give up on my fish; they seem pretty happy & active, and they always eat vigorously and play. :(

I'm not sure exactly what causes skinny disease, although I wouldn't be surprised if it was something similar to tapeworms. All I know is that it's pretty common in danios and loaches. It pretty much happens exactly as it did with your fish; even though they continue to eat, they get more and more emaciated over time and eventually die. Hopefully someone with more knowledge of this disease will stop by this thread.

I agree with what's been said about tank size. You see how active your danios are; they really do better in groups and with ample swimming room. At least 30" of swimming room would be really nice (so a 29g tank or a 20g long) but I think they'd be ok in something 24" long (I keep some in a 20H, for example).

Alright, thanks. Well, Yellow's problem was that he just never ate! He just refused to - poor little guy. Do you think I should return my fish, or wait for a larger tank? I keep my tank on top of my large dresser, and there's way more than enough room for a larger tank.
