shrimp question

The company I'm ordering my plants from sell cherry shrimp; are there any compatibility issues with bronze corys and head and tail light tetra?

Many thanks.

Fish will eat almost any shrimp that can fit in their mouths; keep that in mind. Tetra and cories usually don't bother the adults, but some babies will likely be eaten. Provided you have enough hiding spots for the babies (plants like mosses are great for this) then you should have enough survive to continue the population.

I just added shrimp with a betta, cherry barbs (1.5") and emerald catfish (2"). I tried four to see if they would survive a week without becoming sushi before adding more. They survived, all four of them, and now we have ten.

I have driftwood with lots of hidey holes, java moss and tons of plants and I think those were fairly large factors in their surviving... that and I got shrimp that were already 7/8" long so they were a pretty large bite for any fish.

You may get tiny ones so it could be good to ask how big they are. I bought mine at the LFS so I could pick and choose.

Jeff.

Thanks both of you. I don't think I'd have enough hiding space for them as I was planning my tank, I'll have a think about if I want to change it for them.
