i got this from another forum called the planted tank from hoppy and this does all the quatumn figures for me. see attach

I guess my point is, where did the 83 umol 'desired PAR at the substrate' come from? Was this described as something like 'low/high light' or was it the amount of irradiance that a particular source produces in a similar configuration as you are planning? Without some way to cross reference, it will be difficult to say whether it is too much, not enough, or just right.
