i was thinking to empty it and give it a real good clean/scrub,however
that would mean re filling and with the temperatures here being so cold to heat and add
would take like forever, and the filter would be a problem,i would worry that
it would be turned off for so long it would throw me back to re-cycle.
i wish now i hadn't plumbed it in that way, such a pain really.
the fluffy stuff on the leaves of the vallis..........how do i get rid of that ?
i feel like starting from scratch, but i think perhaps that would give me more problems
than i already have.
signed an embarrassed unhappy willow.

Lainey, Lainey, Lainey...much too hard on yourself. I don't think the tank looks bad at all, just a little overgrown with Vals. If it was my tank (and it's not) I would thin out the Vals, starting from the front. Not sure what kind of algae is growing on the Vals but I'd just toss the "ick-ier" of the Vals and keep the cleaner looking ones. Then decide what you want to stock with (add a few more different type plants so it's not just all Vals) and just go for it. Do a nice large water change (50%) before adding new fish and plants. The tank doesn't look bad at all!

you know , you are a darling
i think i'll do just that,i guess when you're sitting there and you're just blank with ideas
or even as me blank as to how to fix it,sometimes it's the simplest of answers
that does the trick.
i may go back through my pictures of how the tank has looked over time,as i think
there's a picture when the vallis was thiner and i liked that.

I am not a big fan of moss balls my self, I dunno I just don't like the way they look. I like to have a "blended" look. Moss balls, at least everywhere I have seen them, they just kinda sit there there and stand out. I dunno. I'm weird so there you have it haha.

and tonight it looks like this
where there has been some water spillage down the back,i can't get behind to clean it,
and the other backing was blue painted paper which got wet and stuck to the glass,
the vallis should go back up to cover it i hope.
