So I got into the Aquarium hobby without fully understanding all aspects. I just wanted some fish!
So yeah...I have a ten gallon tank and I have the following...
2 Blue Paradise Gouramis
3 Gold Pristella Tetras
3 Zebra Danios
2 Neon Tetras
2 Guppies (Adult Male & Female Pair)
2 Bettas (1 Male, 1 Female)
I also have a 1 gallon that I'm trying to get ready so that I can move a fish or two in...
My question is this...
The 1 gallon was purchased from Wal-Mart for $15, you all may know which one it is. It is the Mini Bow kind and has a under gravel filter...which is really just an airstone. But anyway...when the pump puts bubbles into the water and they surfaced the bubbles would be tiny and cause a foam on the top. They would eventually pop but there was always a constant foam.
I rinsed out the tank and then tried again...a little bit better but still with some foam. I waited a few days...tried again and rinsed everything out once more and the foam is no more! Now there are big bubbles and they're popping almost instant...but still not as soon as they surface, but not taking the whole top surface up, either. What is causing this? Is this okay? With the bubbles now popping and taking maybe half the surface of the tank is it safe for my fish, now?
So what should I move to the 1 gallon? I am thinking about maybe putting the female guppy in there when she goes to have fry? But then if she's not used to the 1 gallon it may put some stress on her. So should I maybe put the male and female in the 1 gallon and when she's about to have her fry take the male out and possibly put him in with a 5 gallon I might be purchasing for my 2 Gouramis?
With my fish, what would you all suggest in tank sizes? I'm thinking a 5 gallon would probably be perfect for my 2 Gouramis. What are your all's opinions?
Thanks So Much!!! :D
