Selective Algae? (input requested)

Hi, so for a while now I've had an algae growth issue. It is green algae that grows in clumps but only on the right side of the aquarium. The left side of the tank is 100% plants basically. The algae is pretty easy to clean out, it just picks right out, but it comes back too quick. I was thinking if I had more water circulation, that would help. I tried my MaxiJet 1200 but it is FAR to powerful and the discus were flopping all about so that won't work. Any other recommendations? Or should I just get a slower jet? It's a 90gal tank, by the way.

Thanks!

I've recently had this same problem, only in a 5G. I refilled my DIY Co2 and that got rid of the algae. The Co2 promotes plant growth that in turn saps more nutrients out of the water and "starves" the algae.

Looks kinda bushy, only it's not black hair algae, cuz it's green? I too have the same thing. I left it cuz it was kinda cute and wasn't spreading. Then I went out of town for a weekend without feeding the fish and my ABN's got hungry and ate it all. However, I had it for about 6 months and it really didn't spread, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Yea, I thought it was cute at first too. Until it fills the floor and corner of the right side of the tank! I did have compressed CO2 injection before but it kept leaking and a full canister would empty by morning....it gets expensive at $22 a fill!

So I will probably start using the CO2 again and I thought that might fix it. We will see! Thanks.
