Sawing Bogwood in Half?

This may sound like a stupid question but if i saw my piece of bogwood in half will the cut be the same colour as the surface? I'm wanting to saw a piece of it i half but don't want to if its going to be a completely different colour.

I've never used bog wood but when you saw anything the end you cut is gonna be a bit lighter. As for bog wood center no idea on the color.

it will most likely be lighter but will darken to the same color
