Sand Color for aquarium

In the picture on the bottom is the Quikrete play sand, and on the top is a silica based play sand from Lowe's. Which color do you think? This is the rinsed, wet, final product before putting in the aquarium. The bottom is more red, and the top is more gray. Don't be bashful, tell me what you think.

What light is this photographed under? Looks like one of those aquarium or plant tubes that distort colours. But even at that...

I have bought some 8 or 9 bags of Quikrete Play Sand over the past 2 years, and it has always been a mix of tan/white/black/gray which they call "tan." You can see what it looks like under daylight tubes in the photos in my log.

This is daylight/shade, on white plate with cell phone camera. There is a distinct difference in the sand. It may be that different areas of the country have different suppliers of the sand?

I used Quikrete Play Sand from Home Depot. The only difference seems to be that my sand is lighter in color than your example. In any event, I like the red hue more than the gray.

Silica and sand and synonymous - even the "silica free" sand you may find is made of..... Silica. It's what sand is.
