Sand?

Alright is their any easy way to add sand to a tank without dumping all the water out? I only have a 6 goldfish in there right now that i used for cycling. Could i just pourthe sand in the water and let it clear for a day or so before i stock it with fish?

-thanks!

Just add the sand toyour tank and wait for every grain to settle. If you are using powerheads on your filtration system, keep it off until the sand settles or the grains will destroy the motor.

Rinse it well, rinse it very well. If you don't you'll get a sandstorm that will take forever to clear.

I am thinking you could also cover the intake with panty hose to help keep the big particles out.

Your intake should be far enough off the sand that the big particles don't get sucked up into the intake.
