How to you rinse sand to put into your aquarium??

What I did was put it into a clean bucket(NEW) take a water hose and sprayed it. When it gets full, dump the water out and do it over again. When you go and put it in the tank and fill it with water there will be some clumps that will float on top just simply break it up with your finger and it will sink back to the bottom. Just a thought after a while the sand in the tank will get sucked into the filter and will damage the magneti impeller after a while. I figured I put that in there.

It is the sand itself. They do clumped together but can easily be break down.

We're not saying you can't use sand but we are just trying to warn you that if the sand gets sucked in the filter, then the damage on the filter's impellor is likely to happen. Just make sure the sand won't really try to cloud everything which will eventually go inside the filter.
If you try to fill in the new water to the tank, use your hand or a plate to smoothen the flow of the water. This also helps not to disrupt the decors.
