From my experience with all the mollies I have had in the past ( all versions ), male mollies can be kind of a bully, and unless in a really big tank with lots to discover and others to spread out their "aggression", it happens. No matter how docile a specific species of fish is said to be, they all have some level of aggression. Heck, I even have one of my Harlequin Rasboras that is evil, and will charge and fight if I ever try to add more rasboras to his group, and he has successfully killed off like 3 adds this past year, so I gave up.
Next week or so, you could try another platy or two and see if it helps. Who knows. Good luck.
