Depends on the store. Some stores would probably just put a healthy looking fish back in, but many would probably do something less pleasant with it to keep their sale tank free from any illnesses it got while under someone's care.

not platys, the females just give birth constantly and the males get all weird. I have 4 males and one had to go, he was a bully, now another one is a bully. its horrid to watch.

others will advise on peaceful fish, depends on water type i guess but certain gourami can be peaceful sedate fish in the right environment. plus some mild mannered tetra maybe? not really sure.

Peace always..

Not by any means. They are just get a few inches long, but like all livebearers the females constantly have babies. This makes them a nuisance.

For a peaceful tank, tetra are best. In groups of more than 8 most of the tetra species are very peaceful. Some of the gourami can be peaceful, but you can only have on gourami per tank. Loaches and corydoras are also very peaceful.
