Here's some new photos of my tank, with a new piece of wood in it.

Looks good Gwen.

How about posting a full tank shot so we can see the whole effect? You know how we love pics :)

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

Very nice Gwen. I always have to make at least one suggestion...in the front right corner, something needs to be added. And I would suggest not a plant but something like rock or wood. Not large, but larger than the two pebbles there now; they can remain, with a 3rd larger chunk of rock sort of between and behind them. The idea is to give the perception that things are continuing beyond the end of the tank, and that would do it. It would also offset the centreness of the wood.

Something we all need to remember: The fish you've acquired was quite happy not being owned by you, minding its own business. If you’re going to take it under your wing then you’re responsible for it. Every aspect of its life is under your control, from water quality and temperature to swimming space. [Nathan Hill in PFK]

Thanks Byron for that suggestion. I can do that. I leave an open spot because I need somewhere to place a bowl when I fill my water, to keep the sand from being too disturbed, but a bigger rock would be easy to pick up and remove at that time. Thanks!
