Recommendations for a 10g Single fish or species tank

I just got a ten gallon tank with some black skirt tetras from someone, but the fish did not survive the move. I am now looking to restock. I was thinking of a species tank of some sort, and I'm looking for suggestions. Some initial thoughts are an aggressive fish that can be kept solo (i.e. a butterfly fish) or a dwarf puffer tank. I guess what Iím looking for is something I could not keep in any of my other community tanks. I understand the restrictions due to size, just looking for some input. Thanks in advance for your time.

Hmm, I recommend a dwarf puffer tank. Those little guys are amazing, tons of "personality". Always investigating what your doing. The ones I had always had their nose in whatever i was doing in the tank. You could probably do a couple in a 10g. Or you could also go with a betta.

Maybe a convict cichlid, or firemouth, but get more opinions on the last two, as I have never owned them.

i would probably go with the puffers also.......You could keep a convict or firemouth on a short term basis , if you planning on upgrading to a larger tank for them

I don't think you'd be disappointed. They are fun to watch, especially when they are going after snails. (that should be their main source of food.)

Thanks for the Suggestion, but ialready have a dwarf Gourami in my main tank. I like the puffer idea, but also considering a solo fish.

Hmm, for solo, perhaps a Ram of some sorts? again, get more opinions, because I haven't owned them before.
