Quick question on Fishless Cycle

So I've been cycling my 10 gallon for about 3-4 weeks? I haven't been keeping a detailed log of it. But about 5 days ago is when my Ammonia levels has dropped 5ppm to 0ppm in 8-12 hours while keeping the Ammonia level in the tank at 5ppm.

At that time my Nitrites were through the roof. I wanted to try and keep track of the Nitrite levels so I so could see a potential drop in it. It took a 70% WC and another 70% to even get a reading on the scale. Was that a bad thing? I heard really high Nitrite levels could stunt the process.

What should I keep on dosing Ammonia to 5ppm every 12 hours to keep the level up? Wouldn't that just lead to a massive Nitrite level again? Sorry I'm a little stumped on this step of the cycle.

Can't edit. But maybe I spoke to soon, I just tested my water and the Nitrite level has dropped from ~5ppm to 0.5ppm in about 14 hours I believe. So I might be on my very last leg of the cycle? If the Nitrite drops to zero within 24 hours is the cycle complete or is it 12 hours? I believe I have heard both.

API Liquid Testing Readings: 14-16igh hours since 5ppm Ammonia dose

Ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrite: 0.5ppm
Nitrate: 80 ppm

KH: ~197 ppm
GH: 55-70 ppm
