questions on how to set up new tank with stuff from existing tank?
Im considering setting up a 20 gal tank that i have just sitting in my garage. But i'm wondering since i have a 10 gal set up with lots of plants will just putting in the plants in the 20 gal cycle it faster? Or if i get the same filter for it ( aqueon quiet flow 10) could i use the filter cartridge thats being used now to cycle it? Any advice will be greatly appreciated!
yes to both answers.the old cartridge has to be washed with tank water and not straight from the tap so it will have some bacteria in there to start the process off in the new tank but even with this the tank has to be left to cycle before any fishes could be add esp if your using new gravel.
