Hi Lupin...
I am only freshwater... so the crushed corals etc can still apply?
I don't think I much understand about this water buffering?
I will check my param's before I put the log in today and will post them. Checking param's takes me like a half hour to

1 Siamese Algae Eater

Lots of shrimp
My 70g
1 Siamese Algae Eater
4 Peppered Corydora, 1 Green Corydora
2 Wood Shrimp
3 Red Eye Tetra

Crushed corals will work fine. Buffering is in reference to the KH which influences the stability of the pH. If your KH is 3 and lower, then you need to somehow increase it as it is capable of causing your pH to fluctuate a lot thus stressing the aquarium inhabitants. You'll want the KH and GH test kts to determine the hardness levels.
