I have cleaned up quite a few pieces of equipment that was given to me. Much of it was very heavily caked with lime scale. The best I found was some cleaner you put in an auto-drip coffee pot to clean it. Poured a little on full strength and it came right off. Rinses off cleanly and easily.

my tank had lots of stains but filling it with water u couldn't even see any stains



cant see the stains too good but it had hard water stains everywhere filling it they all weren't noticeable

and what looks like stains in the filled tank are just the drywall behind it
