Hi, and welcome to Tropical Fish Keeping forum.
I'm going to pint you to our profiles. Second tab from the left in the blue bar across the top of the page. Fish are organized under basic families, and in each profile the preferred water parameters including temperature is given. It is best to stay in the low-to-mid range for the species, rather than the high end. The higher the temp, the more work it is for the fish.
On substrate fish, check the species under Catfish, there are many that will work. You will need to know your GH (general hardness) and pH, as some have preferences. Some will adapt a bit, some will not.
