Question Question about paint and aquariums

My mum wishes to paint my bedroom while I'm away I university but I was wondering if the fumes will some how harm my two goldfish?

I have an open top, heavily aerated aquarium so that might be an issue?

Feedback would be great!

I can't imagine the fumes would be good for the fish. What was recommended to me when my apartment got sprayed for insects was to turn off the aeration, close the lid (in your case buy one), and put a few towels over the tank. Your mother should be painting with the windows open which would release a lot of the fumes, but you're right to look for some added protection for your tank.
