I always leave my fish in the tank during water changes. Water change days can be stressful for some fish, but to net them and place them in a bucket, would be even harder on them.

The only time I take fish out of the tank is if I need to do a full water change. It would stress them out more to net them and move them around every week. No worries on leaving your fish in the tank. Some of my fish in the 45 gal are so used to it they swim and play around the siphon.

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

my fish never leave the tank unless it was completely drained. earlier this week i did about a 35% wc and a total re scape and the fish were in the whole time and dint mind it a bit.

i have another thread on this but......i just moved my tank from one room to the other taking out 50% of the water and a rescape and left them in....no one seemed to mind and they are all happy as ever. i save 25% of the 50 and put it back after moving then just did a 25% change on the rest...
