Plecostomus with a worm? HELP!

I just purchased an "established" tank yesterday. I noticed this morning that the plecosomus had a white thing on his belly. It looks like it goes into his body. I can't find pictures online of another pleco with this so I can't figure out what it is. I am not able to take pictures either. I don't have any parasite meds. I only have marcyn 2 from my bettas. What is wrong with him and what can I do? I did order some meds yesterday.

Anyone? He is swimming around the tank. Don't plecos normally stay in one spot?

Dont know what the white thing could be. If it makes you feel any better, my plecos are always swimming around the tank. They move around quit a bit.

Is the fish still eating fine? Is it thin? For internal parasites, metronidazole and praziquantel are often recommended. Flubendazole should cover a wider range of parasites.

yea, I feel like an idoit. It was his "anus" lol. Sorry not sure if you would call it an anus. Poor little guy was constipated. I figured it out when he finally went to the bathroom. He had the "little white worm" (lol) hanging there for 3 days. I've that Ive had him for a couple of weeks, I've gotten to know his personality. He will be really active for a couple of days. Swimming around a lot. Then he hids for a couple of days.

Glad to hear it was nothing bad!!! He will start pooping like crazy now! Mine leave some strands over a foot long at times.

Oh he is! I remove it daily. It gets tangled up in the plants, wrapped around the bottom of the filter (the tube). It's every where's! lol. I don't mind though. I really like the little guy (or girl).
