Question Pleco doing a dance

Hi, long time lurker, first time poster. I have a leopard pleco that has started to wag his butt around. He will hang in one spot on the glass and just move his tail back and forth. Hasn't done this before, have had him almost 6 months. Noticed it last night when he didn't show up for his algae wafer.(like clockwork at 8:30pm he is in the spot I drop the wafer) Any ideas??

Welcome to TFK?

See if the behavior happens again.

Have you checked your water? pH? Ammonia? Nitrite? Nitrate?

Also, if you seen him, does he show any physical signs that could give an idea for the change of behavior?

wag his butt around? Mine does that when eating algae.

My bristle nose Pleco tends to do that too, I wouldn't worry. Like Termato said, just see if he does it again tomorrow! Although he may be in the same spot every day at a certain time, you never know he could've got distracted lol.

If it's worth adding, mine does that when he's on the tank glass when he's sucking away at it (I don't know why they do it, I think it's like cleaning).
