Unhappy Platy Fish in a Betta Bowl...??

Hi Everyone,

So my brothers girlfriend just got a new fish tank. She has guppies and platies. Shes very inexperienced. Today she brought me a platy that she said was killing her other fish. The thing is I dont have a fish tank anymore. All I have is a 2 gallon tank with an interal filter that houses Ish the Fish, a betta.

So I set up a fish bowl for the platy. I DO NOT want to move my betta to the bowl. Will the platy live long in a fish bowl? I dont really have the cash to buy a new set up for a platy. Hes an exceptionally small platy. If I give him to her she will flush him. And I dont know anyone with a fish tank.

Any information would be helpful .

Whatever the circumstances, the platy needs an aquarium with sufficient space and a bowl is not going to provide that. Perhaps a local fish store will take it, if they know the circumstances?

Something we all need to remember: The fish you've acquired was quite happy not being owned by you, minding its own business. If you’re going to take it under your wing then you’re responsible for it. Every aspect of its life is under your control, from water quality and temperature to swimming space. [Nathan Hill in PFK]
