Platies,slow eaters?

Just purchased 3 male platies few days ago and when it's feeding time they act like they have all day to eat. They always seem occupied eating the algae on the glass or decorations and by the time they get to the surface feeding time is almost over and there only getting bits. Is this a major concern. They sure do seem to love the algae in the tank, nibbling all day.

I now have about 5 red wag and 14 sunset mickey mouse Platies and they're anything but slow when it comes to eating - I've referred to them as hog fish.

Father Knows Best but Abbey knows everything! I once knew everything, then I asked one question.
