So in our 75 gallon, we currently have an Oscar and 2 plecos, yes, I know, way over stocked. But its my moms tank and since she thinks she's a "Fish Expert" and refuses to read any articles I find on the internet, it's going to end up staying like that until they all kick the bucket.

Any-who, my mom wants to add more fish once our 10 year old Oscar dies. I'm assuming she wants something small, colorful, and probably no more live bearers.
I told her to get a group of 4-6 female betta fish to keep her live bearer populations down, but she doesn't like betta fish apparently....

Do you guys have any advice? The tank currently isn't heated because the Oscar rips apart heaters, decorations, ect. But he is blond to any sort of small, silvery fish. Though I'd imagine my mom would get a heater and fix the lighting in her tank once the Oscar kicks the bucket.

Thanks guys!

How large are the plecos, and the oscar? I dont feel like your overstocked if you only have 3 fish in it but that also depends on there size i guess.

Are you two plecos( which I'm assuming are common) going as well? knowing your water parameters would also help a great deal. Your ph, gh, kh, etc. Also is she looking into planting the tank?
