Planaria, fishless cycle, sigh.

So I've read a lot about planaria... Because I have a lot of them doing my cycle and I just noticed them tonight... I added more raw fish in a bag since tomorrow I leave for 3 weeks and I'm only 12 days into te cycle.

Will these planaria be permanent? Or after I finish my cycle and get my Peruvian puffer and don't have raw fish sitting in my tank will they go away? I've read forum after forum with no clear answer on what to do, how to do it, or if it will cease when conditions become proper for fish to live in my tank... Since these guys love organic matter and thrive in ammonia.

Any help is appreciated... If this is permanent I'm going to shoot myself. They are so annoying...

Welcome to the forum! They will leave (die) when you stop feeding them. And most fish like to eat them so it won't be a problem. Just clean your tank when you get back, with real good gravel vacuuming, and don't overfeed your new fish. They should go away soon.

Never too far from crazy
