penguin 350 biowheel with aquaclear inserts?

Ok so basically my friend jsut got an aquaclear 50 powerfilter, i noticed they have large media inserts rather then these cheap a** pads u need to replace weekly or biweekly, and liked it. I also like my penguin biowheel 350. I noticed the media for his aquaclear 50 would almost perfectly fit into the penguin 350's baskets when the pads were taken out.. wondering what your oppinion on that idea is..

Thanks guys, i wont be on till this time tmrw but plz reply:P

IF they fit right away, or you have to trim them I don't see why not. Customize it and make it work for you and your tank. As long as it keeps the water clean and healthy go for it.

I actually do this in one of my 55 gallon filters. I keep the regular "pads" in one side, but I use the AquaClear sponge and BioMax in the other. I really like the BioMax because it helps keep water levels more stable.

Fancying the fish world!
