What I see in your tank on page 1 is: Echinodorus Bleheri (Amazon Sword)@ first picture between the brown and the white rock

To the very right @ 1st pic in front of this castle I see Echinodorus portoalegrensis
On the white rock I see
Java Fern Narrow Leaf and the majority of your backround is planted with Anachris and I think I also see some Java moss on the larger white rock.
So based of what you have I'd buy each of the Swords 1 more, add the Anubias, Guppy gras & Hornwort and that should fill your tank nicely.

Personally I'd find this tank covered too much in duckweed which will essentially "swollow" a lot of light for the plants below. If it was my tank I'd scoop off the majority so that the tank is only covered with it ~20%.

Thanks.

1 Life-Glo at 1 WPG it is and I'll start looking for the additional plants and cut back the Duckweed. If not for the Endlers, I'd do completely without them. But then again, their rapid multiplication probably does me real good for now while my malnourished plants catch up with the newly added fertilizers.

After they are all established, I'll begin adding my additional pets.

Patients is a virtue, thank goodness I have just some.

Thanks a bunch everyone, this is awesome and I'm so excited...

Hi,

Fortunately Petsmart took the bulb back and I got the Life-Glo 20W 24" T-8 but it's only 6.700K. Is that still fairly good or? It was only $3 more and the blue on the Cardinals really glow brightly now.

Angel,

Thanks so much for naming my plants, I've written it down for keep sake. The Duckweed's been cut back and is now kept not just away from the HOB but from the light as well.

Its actually sorta 'fun' if you have access to all these flora glo, life glo, sun glo all these different ones and exchange them 1 by 1 and see what difference it makes on the actual fish. Now finding a light that makes your fish "pop" and let the plants grow good is another story

You're very welcome! Just keep in mind when shopping the guppy gras and hornwort and pennywort or the vallis one's this all is stuff that grows QUICK and grows a LOT so you may rather one only buy 1-2 plants each and then let nature do the rest.

Here's some before-after type shots of my old 55g when it was first planted and a few weeks later...this is what I mean about being careful how much you put in it, once its growing, its GROWING (or in this case it took over lol)

Angel, I think you're over-run with Pennywort! It does grow fast, doesn't it. Might want to thin it back to let the swords grow out...just a thought.

Selvan, the Life-Glo tube you got is fine; 6700K is close to mid-day sun colour at 5500-6000K, with a little tad extra of blue. And as you've already noticed, it brings out the fish colours because it is just natural.

You know Byron, I actually bought Pennywort for the background after I got run over by Vallis in the other 55g....that was a clever move lemme tell ya...couldn't really pin point which one made me wanna rip my hair out even more...
No more cutting back needed I had to give up all the tank for the move remember (That's why I'm starting the new tanks w/out Pennywort and only ONE Vallis lol).

Angel,

Wow, those plants took off like weed, did you feed them steriods...:) I see what you mean about taking care to not over do it. So far with what I have I only see the Moss possibly becoming a problem if let go. Trimming the Anacharis is easy enough though.

Could I please ask you to name 2 more plants for me? On the frontal pic on the 1st page, the plant that's between the brown rock and white rock? Also, the 2 small pale color ones on either side of the brown rock and the 2 to the right of the Java Fern, those 4 are the same plant.

Byron,

Thanks, I do like the light. Much better effect for the same wattage.

The larger plant between the brown & white rock where the Tetra's are swimming around? That's Echinodorus Blehrei (Amazon Sword)
The real small ones to either side of the brown rock, I really can't tell, maybe you could make a sharp close up picture of them?

Hi and thanks a bunch Angel,

There's 2 more of the same plant that's larger. One is directly below the sunken ship to the right of the Java Fern and the other is to the right of it in front of the same sunken ship. They both look like they are touching the sunken ship.

I'm sorry for that, my camera can only do so much.

Thanks
