I just can't believe it!
I'm sitting in the living room, quite near the fish tank and I hear this drip..drip..drip, so I investigate and theres water dripping from the stand....
It was only a bit, and upon further investigation there seems to be a bead of water all around the base of the tank between the bottom of the tank, and the surface of the stand that is sits on. Stand and the tank came together and are part of a set.
The tank is a Juwel Rekord 800, 29g.
This is the only tank I have, If it has got a tiny leak, I am sure it must be tiny if there is a leak otherwise there would be a noticeable amount of water escaping, WHAT DO I DO????????
I don't have a quarantine tank, and the filter system is built into the tank so I couldn't take the fish out and keep them in a bucket with the filter and heater in there as an extreme measure... I could probably put the heater in, but it would be unprotected.
Its 8.30pm and nowhere would be open, the LFS I got the tank from might be open tomorrow if I am lucky as its a bank holiday in the UK, I am sure the tanks are warranted for leaks? but what is the procedure if I have a leak, and they agree to provide me with another tank??
Do I just catch the fish and keep them in a container, bucket or something, then just scoop out all the gravel and move the plants, and filter material etc and then refill? and then just put the fish in the new one? URGHHHH hope it doesn't come to that.....
Although could be a good time to switch the substrate! I want dark substrate, but anyway that is by the by... what a nightmare.
I have checked the water level so I will keep an eye on it to see if it goes down at all...
any advice would be much appreciated.
The other day I was performing my water change and one of my cats jumped to go on top of the tank, and the lid was open and he partially went int the tank! thats both cats that have done that now!! and it splashed water everywhere, I in my anger and panic let the hose come out of the bucket, and the syphoned water went everywhere, I am wondering if it is water just sitting under the tank, but why if it is would it just start dripping out?
