Old turtle tank okay for fish?
I found a 46 gallon bow front on CL and I'm interested in buying it but before I do I want to know if its safe for aquarium use now? I've heard turtles can carry many diseases and I don't want the fish to be affected by this. Any help is appreciated.
10g - Red Cherry Shirmp
20g long - SE Asia "Biotope"
30g - Jasper's (GF) Tank
75g - South American "Biotope"
Plenty of empties...
im gunan say as long as the tank will hold water full (ive went to buy a tank off cl before and when i asked the guy to fill it it leaked half way up) assuming this is why the guy used it for something other then fish. i would give it a nice cleaning with some chlorine. then when you go to fill with water use some dechlorinator and let it sit for atelast 24 hrs with the water and dechlor in it before adding fish. if this is ur first tank do some homework on the nitrogen cycle and also make sure the fish you plan on are all going to be compatable with eachtoerh and have simular water conditions
Sure, you can sterilize it with chlorine bleach. If it's in good shape, holds water and a decent price, you should be fine. Just clean well before use.
Father Knows Best but Abbey knows everything! I once knew everything, then I asked one question.
